Healthcare
I love writing about healthcare in the broadest sense of the word. Earlier on in my career I have worked at Healthcare insurance company VGZthe Radboud University Medical Center, Zembro (an international startup in ICT & senior care) and the Dutch Hospital Association. For these employers I have written articles, edited, developed websites and managed social media. Passion for healthcare has been part of my life for as long as I can remember: everyone in my family works in the social or healthcare industry . As a kid I had all kinds of different foster brothers and sisters. That didn't only develop my people skills, but also gave me an interest in psychology.
ICT
My career started off in the ICTsector, at the - discontinued - magazine Computer easy. Ever since 1998 I have loved working with computers. Also before, when I think of it. On my parents' Commodore 64. But since 1998 I've loved working on websites; love to figure out things on my own, write content, edit images and make a website that doesn't only look good, but is also functional for the visitor. Thanks to my work on Computer easy, I developed a love for gadgets. I can also thank my tech savvy nature when I needed it for my work at Alewijnse. Where I worked as a Consultant online media & SharePoint, where an international intranet in SharePoint was built.
SharePoint
Yes yes, many people hate SharePoint. I know. I've gone through a change to SharePoint with 3 employers now. And change is never easy for most people. And for SharePoint you have to 'think differently'. That was printed into my brain during my first inroduction to SharePoint in 2006. Where it always goes wrong in the adoptation of SharePoint according to me? There isn't enough attention for taking along the people who have to eventually work with it. They often get a training, but they are taught how it works. Not WHY it works the way it does. And I am convinced you will only see the advantages of SharePoint, if you understand the reasoning behind it.
Travel
The first thing you learn about me, is that I have a lot of passions. I just get enthusiastic about new stuff quickly. The more I know about it, the more I want to know about it. Travel is something I love to do in my spare time. But if I could combine this with work (for instance become a digital nomad, or writer and photographer for a medium about travel), then it would be perfect. I mostly travel in western countries, with a love for Europe and the United States of America. In 2010 I added to my bucket list: visit all 50 states of America. These days I can cross off about 30 off that list. Every state feels like a different country. Different mentality in its residents, different landscape and nature, different feeling it gives you. I lost my heart in Hawaii and Alaska. Two totally different states, but I always find my rest in nature.
Movies & TV
When I swore as an 11 year old to meet my favorite actor from the 80's , everyone thought I was ready for the mental hospital. But in 2012 I succeeded in making my dream come true and ever since, we occassionally hang out. My love for Hollywoord was also the start of my love for the USA. During my journalism studies, I was supposed to get an internship at Veronica magazine. Helaas ging dat op het laatste moment niet door, vanwege een reorganisatie. Anders had ik nu waarschijnlijk in de entertainmentindustrie gewerkt. Vreemd genoeg loop ik in eigen land én het buitenland vaak bekende mensen tegen het lijf. En ken ik een aantal aan-de-weg-timmerende acteurs die ik ondersteun met socialmedia-adviezen. Dus als Netflix mij zou willen inhuren om reviews of samenvattingen te schrijven voor hun nieuwe series, of interviews met de sterren, mogen ze Contact me!
