2022 was a good year for Content chick. In September I quit my old job working for an employer, and I went freelance full time. A great choice, because I got the opportunity to do 2 great assignments. In this blog post you will read more about the fun things of 2022.
New branding for Content chick
When I started out as a freelancer, I designed my own branding. And based it on several usability research outcomes for websites. I thought that a freelancer in digital communication should obey the rules. But the website wasn't really reflecting who Content chick is. So in 2022 I designed something new. With colors that match my personality better, and also my love of nature. And tropical vibes to reflect my love for the Hawaiian islands. From blue/orange to green/pink. Also fits better with the 'chick' in my company name!
Vliegwiel for digital transformation in healthcare
In March I started a new project for the Vliegwiel for digital transformation in healthcare, a program by the Patient Federation Netherlands. As Advisor Content & Communication I was asked to arrange for a new website for the Vliegwiel Together with Brul Marketing & Media we were able to launch a new website quickly, and the team is still happy with it. Visitor analytics show great results: more visitors, more visited pages and more time spent on pages. More great developments for this website are currently planned for the near future.

I also got to be a (small) part of the campaign #thuiskanhetook by writing social media messages, and I was also involved in the development of the new website for this campaign.
Pharos
A couple of monthe later the national expertise center for health differences Pharos and I found each other through LinkedIn. At first they hired me as a content writer and content manager as a replacement during vacations within the team. But eventually they gave me a project to optimize most visited pages for search engines. Currently still working on that project!
Solvy
During the year I also got the opportunity to help digital agency Solvy with their web content (writing & management) for their new upcoming website. A fun way to learn more about the Storyblok content management system. I find it a very user friendly system. Especially for big companies who work with decentralized editors who have no knowledge of cms, html, etc. Easy peasy!
Insurances for freelancers
This year I also learned a lot about insurances, finance and administration for my own company. Thanks to the Dutch Journalists Association I learned all about sickness, old age and death - for freelancers.

I'm currently still figuring out what to do with my pension and I will probably use BrightPensioen. I love these new initiatives that allow freelancers to help each other and invest money in a durable way!

What will 2023 bring?
In the first few months of the new year I will go on with my current projects. Then I'm planning on taking a little vacation in March. I'll probably be available again in April for a few hours.
